Leading into Memorial Day weekend, Motorworks Brewing is hosting “Whiskey & War Stories” on Wednesday, May 22nd in partnership with American Freedom Distillery from St. Petersburg, FL.

The event will feature a two-hour discussion and Q&A session with “Horse Solider” & American Freedom’s Master Distiller Tyler Gardener from 7-9PM.

A number of American Freedom Distillery’s employees were among the famous Green Beret soldiers who battled the Taliban on horseback in the mountains of northern Afghanistan, and the distillery’s Horse Soldier® Bourbon is a tribute to these famed fighters.

After the Q&A, the night will conclude with a showing of “12 Strong,” the 2018 film starring Chris Hemsworth that was based on these legendary soldiers.

We’ll be serving specialty Horse Solider cocktails and neat bourbon, plus bottles signed by Tyler Gardener will be available for sale (to-go only). Horse Soldier boasts notes of toasted corn, oak, cinnamon and a dark fruit nose. Its taste is rich and complex with hints of oak, vanilla, nutmeg, some mild black pepper spice, and a bit of honey that’s well-balanced and medium-bodied with a warm, spicy feel.
